Jim,

I was thinking that one note you might add to the gadget installation instructions is:

Do not unzip the ZIP file

Or words to that effect.

Hi need some help, please. I'm getting this message when I'm trying to Install New Gadget. "Easy Cabinet Maker"
"Failed to extract the vgacget archive" I'm using version 11.008 of Vcarve Pro and Windows 11. Does anybody know what I'm doing wrong?

Hello All,

Per request, we added an option for the Base Cabinet Top. You can select Stretchers or Solid Panel for the top. Based on the selection, the proper milling and parts will be added to the drawing and cut list.

Here is version 14.5 and will only work within version 11+ of the VCarve Pro or Aspire.

Supports:
Version 11+ VCarve Pro or Aspire.

The Easy Install Steps:

1. Download the gadget EasyCabinetMaker.zip that is attached to this post.
2. Rename it from EasyCabinetMaker.zip to EasyCabinetMaker.vagdget
3. In Vectric Pro or Aspire click on Gadgets -> Install Gadget and navigate to where you downloaded the file to, select it and click Ok.

If successful, a pop up saying the gadget was installed and you should see EasyCabinetMaker is now in the Gadgets menu.

As always, we welcome your feedback.

It would appear that step 2 of the instructions should read:
  • 2. Rename it from EasyCabinetMaker.zip to EasyCabinetMaker.vgadget
Rather than the current: EasyCabinetMaker.vagdget

Hello All,

I have fixed the old text base Bill of Materials (BOM) and added a new html based BOM. Added even more Error and Warning trapping. I fixed 100+ spelling errors; I have found Spell checker plugin for a code editor, and it will review my Lua code.

Here is version 14.9 and will only work with version 11+ of the VCarve Pro or Aspire.

Supports:
Version 11+ VCarve Pro or Aspire.

The Easy Install Steps:

1. Download the gadget EasyCabinetMaker.zip that is attached to this post.
2. Rename the EasyCabinetMaker.zip to EasyCabinetMaker.vgadget
3. In Vectric Pro or Aspire click on Gadgets -> Install Gadget and navigate to where you downloaded the file to, select it and click Ok.

This gadget looks pretty great from a first glance.

As a bit of a newbie to using cabinet software is there a good reference spot I can go to brush up on the terminology used here?

Hey Jimbo,

I was preparing to use the gadget and I wanted to check for any updates. I do not have an issue but I do have a question about a warning message about the dado size.

The stuff I will be cutting is .71 inches. I assume the gadget will use that dim.

I have not looked but is there a location for the drawer slide listings?

Anyway,

I is good to here from you. Are you working on gadgets?

I will let you know if I find anything that might need a fix.

Willy

1. The stuff I will be cutting is .71 inches. I assume the gadget will use that dim. You are correct, the gadget need the precise material thickness.
2. I have not looked but is there a location for the drawer slide listings? There is a menu to edit, add, and delete drawer slides. Additionally, you can enter the slide manufactures name and model number as well as the hole spacings so that the gadget can place pilot holes for the slide panels of the base cabinet sides and center panel if your cabinet design utilizes a center panel.

I look forward to your feedback and any suggestions.
Thanks,
Jim
