Easy Line Type Maker

Post by jimandi5000 »

Hello All,

I hope you are having fun today.

As I was drawing the details for the Easy Cabinet Maker user guide, I needed to draw a Dashed or
Hidden line and also a center line. The Vectric VCarve Pro does not have different line types as other CAD/CAM drawing tools have so I made a some gadgets to make these lines for me.

Attached is a zip file with two line gadgets.
How it works:
Draw a single line segment (vector) and select it. Run the line gadget and it will make a new line group, on it own layer, and it is on top of the old line. The old line is still selected and you can delete it or move to another layer.

I may make more but this is what I have now. Please let me know if you have any gadget needs.

Hello All,

I hope each of you are having a great day.

The other day, a request was posted on the forum if anyone had a tool to create dotted lines, so I wrote one. I also added some other line types. I have some more line types to be added but as I get the time, I'll post them.

Note: In the image below, some of the line types appear to be similar. In actuality, they will behave completely different based on your inputs. So give them all a test drive and we always appreciate your feedback and suggestions.

Version: 2.1
Supports: All version of 2D Cut Pro, VCarve Pro, and Aspire

Installation Instructions:
1. Download the gadget EasyLineTypeMaker.vgadget from https://www.gadgets.jimandi.com/
2. In your Vectric product, click on Gadgets -> Install Gadget and navigate to where you downloaded the file to, select it, and click Ok.

You should be presented a pop message up saying the gadget was installed and you should see the EasyLineTypeMaker in the Gadgets menu.

Be sure to sign up on our gadget website to be notified when any updates are made.

Just what I was wishing you would do when you posted something else which included dots and dashes the other day! +1

Very nice - I'll try it later today.

Does it work for curved lines too?

Curves are on the to-do-lists.

Current List:
1. Add more line types
2. Select an circle, add center lines
3. Select an arc, add center lines
4. Select a multi segment straight line, draw the line type
5. Select a multi segment lines with curves, draw the line type
Thanks,
Jim
