Family Clocks

Post by StrataBoy »

I made clocks as Christmas gifts for a couple of my children. The spalted maple produced a very nice color and figure. Sizes are 18" and 14". The backs have a series of pockets to help reduce weight. There is one large pocket near the top that was finished with a profile cut using a dovetail bit so I could use a French Cleat to hang them on the wall.

Nicely done! What finish did you use? It looks darker than I would expect for Spalted Maple.
