Live edge carving

Post by woody53 »

Did this yesterday. Took 6 hours 1/4 em roughing 1/8 ball nose finishing. Got a coat of finish on it today (still wet), other pic is just off machine. Has a crack in the back epoxied it and sanded out, a little bit shows in the front, but is fine.

I enjoy live edge. Nice carve! I have a lot of live edge mesquite that I’m worried about my feeds and speeds. It’s such a hard wood.

That looks pretty good. Do you plan to use it in a project or just as decorative art work?

Just wanted to get machine warmed up and running. Been neglecting it for a few months. Running just like new!!
