Camp James A. Garfield

Post by Luvtocarve »

This plaque was given in recognition of service to MAJ Shaun Robinson, camp Commander upon his retirement. Once called the Ravenna Armory in Ohio, the Commander was instrumental in changing the name of the Joint Military Training Facility to Camp James A. Garfield. Done in two pieces, the 10” circle was carved and then recessed into the back panel. Challenge coins were also inlayed into the back panel. All done in cherry.

Nice work!
Is the 10" circle cherry as well?
I like the coin inlays too. Good job.

Yes the 10” is cherry but from a different piece of wood. The contrast was unintentional and the two pieces looked very similar before finishing. Luckily, I think it really made it pop.
