Thanks Todd.... you did all the hard work in the design.
Only issue I had was on the bottom side Sweep Profile was a step half way down, did not happen on the top side. I am using a 1/8 TBN using a 8% stepover.
Same thing happened on the second one I cut..... just means a lot more sanding.
Sorry photo is upside down ....bloody IPhones.

Hey Aussie...

Hey, thanks for pointing that out. I'll take a look and see where that might be coming from.

Still... your finished part looks really nice!

I did check your vectors and sweep profile...couldn't find anything that might be causing the problem ..... if I recall the top and bottom sweep toolpaths are the same.
If you find the problem I would appreciate if you could let me know as I have at least 2 more to make for the set...

Hey Aussie...

I had a look at the file and racked my brain... and I think, keep in mind it has been a bit since I ran the tooling, it had something to do with the Clearance toolpath. I see in the toolpaths I choose to leave zero Machining Allowance and well that may have been a bad idea if I miss measured the tool. I recall noticing the lines showing up at the bottom of the "pockets" of the clearing pass.

I say that only because the 3D preview of the tooling looks perfect... so it would come down to tool size as a place to start.

If I was to recut this I might consider adding a bit of allowance (in case my measurement of the tool was wrong), and get my calipers out and measure my tool.

Not sure if you know but sometimes little errors like this do show up in the 3D preview if you have the "Preview Simulation Quality" turned up to Very High or Extremely High. That option can be found in the Toolpaths menu -

Unfortunately with the file as provided the errors do not sow at all. Again this leads me to my 2 possible solutions.

Hope that helps... but please use best practice if you adjust your tooling.

Will just use my bobbin sander rather than playing with the tool paths
