Sea Turtle

Post by highpockets »

Just finished this for someone who likes Sea Turtles.
Vectric VCP makes it's simple to make DXF files for plasma cutting.

Interesting approach. What source did you start with and what tool did you use to convert to DXF?
I won't ask what tool you used to generate the G-Code for your plasma cutter. You probably won't be able to answer.

Found a Sea Turtle silhouette online that I liked, imported the bitmap into VCP, used Trace Bit Map to convert it to Vectors, after cleaning up the vectors to suit exported it to DXF. In my case I used other software to convert to gcode, have tried other software, but I hate it the CAM aspects of the program.
VCP is my go to for vector work for both Plasma and CNC router operations, but other software for me works best for Plasma CAM operations.
