I wanted to try and do some Inlay work so I took the company I work for and used there logo.
I wanted to use the natural wood color to match there colors.
The base is walnut with a burl inlay.
The vertical rectangle is ebony and the oval is padauk.
the letters are maple veneer.
Its about 8" square.

It's a simple design and I learned a few lessons along the way.
I have tried this in the past using AutoCad and other software....but I could never get
the results I was looking for.
VCarve Pro made the layout a simple task.
I plan on doing more of this same type of work using natural colors.
I would like to do a US Flag but the color blue will be a hard wood to find :)

You might try some purple heart for the blue colour. It is not correct but it might work well enough. It is nice to carve with, being a very hard, fine grained wook.

Here is a link to a site that has a lot of information about all types of exotic hardwoods, colour hardness, density etc.
