House sign in HDPE

Always liked the look of those plasma cut steel signs painted black. I don’t have a plasma cutter so I made this out of black marine grade HDPE 1/4” thick.

My original design was the bird and the name. But then I was worried about it being too flimsy. My daughter drew up the branches of leaves and I added the curly cues at the bottom, and you can see how they touch the chickadee body and give the whole thing an added bit of structural strength.

Profile cut with a 1/16” bit on the inner parts, 1/8” on the outer.

Nice design. I think the branches add quite a bit to the design, in addition to strength.
