Made to hang over my desk. 12" diameter MDF, copper painted then v-carved and then lasered with a quick engrave toolpath. The amount of detail is truly amazing.

Re: Marvel Calendar
Nice Gary, REALLY nice.
Question, you lasered through the paint job? If so, how were the fumes?
I just took another look at your vid, think I answered my own question.
Also like that shield you put around the laser!

Re: Marvel Calendar
The laser comes that way with the shield installed. I just place it in the spindle collet when I want to use it.
I V-carved first through so the laser didn't have to touch the paint.

Re: Marvel Calendar
That's really cool. Where did you get the original image? Did you design it? I'd like to Vcarve one. My grandson would love it. He and his Dad are big Marvel fans.
At first I thought it was another Aztec calendar.

Re: Marvel Calendar
The design I started with is available at https://sandyeggo.com/project/marvel-character-disc/
I did clean up the design and change some minor things before carving it.
It's obviously copyrighted by Marvel so I've only made this one for myself under "Fair Use" to hang above my desk. I'm sure your grandson would enjoy it.

Re: Marvel Calendar
They both look great!
Could you tell me the speeds and feeds for the laser portion?
I just purchased a Jtech 7 watt laser and am curious.
Thanks

Re: Marvel Calendar
For the 4.2W laser I use 100% power and speeds between 800 and 1100mm/min
