Statue of Liberty

Post by wb9tpg »

Plenty of time in the shop with everything shutdown. This laser job took about an hour to do. I think I can optimize it more

I agree with Michael. Glad you posted it. I've been trying to convince that mean woman I live with that I need to get a lazer.

Very Nice work!
One of these days I will work with my laser hoping I can get some results like this.

Very nice work.
I just installed my new JTech 7 watt.
Trying to learn some other software to run it but struggling.
What laser and software are you using?

I just have Vcarve Pro and use the Quick Engrave toolpath with the J-Tech No-Z post processor.

The only thing I think I'd ever need other software for is to do photos. I have the J-Tech 4.2W Spindle Mount Laser

The Photo-Vcarve in VcarvePro is not going to modulate the RPM (Laser Power) instead of depth. I'm thinking how I can make that transformation in a Post Processor but have not tried it yet.

4" x 12" with 2 quick engrave tool paths. Wood is Red Oak and the beam diameter is 0.0075"

Toolpaths:
- Statue 4.2W @ 1000mm/min
- Flag 4.2W @ 1300mm/min

I'm going to speed up the flag to 1500mm/min next time to see if how much it speed up. I want it lighter
