I tried it.. and it after I downloaded it. I get a picture imported, get the image traced and then when I go to gadgets and click halftone. It says "This gadget requires Aspire"
Am I doing something wrong?

As far back as I recall, the halftoner gadget only works with Aspire. (I know Samson said it would work with VCP - but...maybe he is using some other software and just imports the vectors???)

Micheal is correct. I use another program to create the vectors, and use VCP to create the tool paths. I haven't used the program for a while, and it's on my other computer, and I can't remember the name of it.
I apologize, I didn't know there was a gadget (although it's only for Aspire), I thought you were only asking if VCP is capable of cutting the halftones.

Are you guys thinking of Vectric Ltd's Photo VCarve software? There is a forum here for it.

Possibly.. I was looking for any software that may allow me to try doing a halftone using the dots method. If Photo VC does that, then that might be my best option.

PVC doesn’t do the “dot” method if half-tone.

Try visiting the link I posted previously. Perhaps that will do the job for you.

Oops!

I didn't check and Michael is right, halftone gadget requires Aspire as it uses the greyscale to relief feature.

Michael is also right directing you to Jason Dorie's software. It will do the trick.

In a few words, Michael is *always* right. Which is very irritating, especially when I'm wrong :D

I've been trying to convince my wife of this for over 3 decades. Hasn't worked so far.
