This simple tabletop is based on a drawing done by a friend.

This small decorative is based on the same drawing of the tabletop, but it's smaller, carved to give a more 3D effect, and put together with 3 different types of wood.

I like the dimension of the multi-wood design, but the table top would look nice with either a clear or colored epoxy to fill and protect it. You could do a partial color fill and a finish fill with clear to help retain the dimension. A lot of possibilities.

Have to agree with everyone else, very nice

What are your plans for the table top ? Have you got a base for it worked out or is it a work in progress ? What about the top itself ? will it be epoxy filled as has been mentioned or just a clear top ? Glass top might be quite expensive if it has to be cut to the same shape as the table top & something like acrylic tends to mark to easily.

To be honest, when I designed it, I hadn't thought that far ahead. I agree that a clear epoxy to fill in the pockets and still maintain the look of the depth would look really great.

Thanks for all the suggestions!
