When I visit a children’s museum it’s fun to see which activities have the longest lines. The Harmonograph is always popular.
I wanted to make a version of this device in order to draw people to my display at craft sales.
This is to be for children to use while I sell my products to their parents.
This is the first part of a small series of steps I took to make a Harmonograph.
This is what a Harmonograph can draw by using the motion from two pendulums, and step one of my project, the table top:

I had never heard of a Harmonograph before now.
That is very cool and a nice design.
I think you'll have just as many parents playing with it and you'll be taking orders for them.

"Genius" is probably stretching it a little. But thanks.
The pen is gravity loaded.

Looks great, can see it attracting people, so lets hope that leads to sales for you. I'd never heard of a harmonograph either, well not strictly speaking true, I knew of them but didn't have a clue what they were called, now I know so thanks Bob.

So did you manufacture all the bits yourself or have you had to buy some of the parts??

All parts were designed using VCarve Pro, and machined on my Shark. Some were Delrin, others were HDPE. I had no special reasons for the types of plastic I chose. It was just what I had in the shop.
