Recent Work

These were done in the last week. Nothing overly special about them, but showing what can be done with VCarve. The Rockford Gardens sign has 8 levels giving it quite a bit of depth.

The material is standard lumberyard pine (Lowe's) that I selected for small or no knots. The paint is Olympic exterior sprayed on with a Wagner HVLP (works great with latex if you thin it). The gold lettering is One Shot Sign Painters enamel.

Pine is a bit of a pain to work with, the primer coats really fuzz it up, so lots of sanding is required.

The designs were done in Corel X3.

I have lost count of how many projects I have programmed using VCarve. What I really like about it is that I am to the point that I actually trust it, I rarely do a 'dry' run. It just plain works, and works right!
