Mayan calendar Haab

Post by dingfelder »

Well, I had to do mine also ... this is the civil mayan calendar (Haab) which counted the solar year with 18 months of 20 days each and a remaining month (19th) with 5 days = 365 days.

This is oak, 30cm diameter ... done with a 90° Vbit and 6mm clearence straigt bit.

That is very nice Gerardo. How are you going to finish it?

Cheers!

Thanks Paul, to finish it I'm planning to leave the wood visible. Just 2 coats of teak oil and done.

Hola Rick,

I made a first attempt vcarving 3mm but some vectors were so thin (the eye for example) that did not show up at the end, so I added 0.5mm as the starting depth to assure any thin vector will at least be carved 0.5mm.

So final depth is 3.5mm.

Great work! I'd be interested in a DXF or AI for this file as well- a club I belong to is doing a "end of the world" type function and this would make a great giveaway, and a nice first big project for my new Romaxx WD-1!

I have a dxf of this. Unfortunately even zipped, it is too large to attach, so if you would like it, plz pm me your e-mail address and I'll pass it along to you.

I also have it in crv3d for aspire, so let me know which one you want.
