CNC Footballs

Post by giltzow »

Hi All

I have finished a couple of regulation size footballs. The one on the left went to an avid Boise State fan and the one on the right
went to the Boise State University Athletic Director. I am using the Ben Tyson stave method to create the footballs. The second picture shows some of the 16 staves with inlays. Inlays were created with the Vectric inlay tool. Staves are thinned to .095" thick before hand bending on a 'Hot Pipe'. Then the staves are glued together, sanded and finished with tongue oil.
