Can I just say many many thanks for this thread.
I have made some of the band sawn boxes from the book by Lois Ventura (Building Beautiful Boxes with your Band Saw) but this thread has blown me away and I must try it. Many thanks zaxis for starting this you are a wizard.
Many many thanks to all who have contributed here.
take care and stay safe

You are welcome. Thank you for your interest and kind remarks. The first one can be a challenge but once you get the procedure down the results are great. The boxes can be made to a closer tolerance and smaller than with a bandsaw. Have fun

Thanks zaxis,
Unfortunately I have a Stepcraft V1 420 CNC Router/Milling machine and I can not join in the big boys games you describe here. It uses a Dremel as a router and means I am restricted in cutting tools with a 1/8" shank and a cutting flute about 3/8" long maximum. I have tried to find an upgrade but they don't make them, you have to buy a new V2 machine and I would rather buy another type of machine after all the hassle I have had. So it looks like it will be a while before I can catch up (if ever).

Is there any way for me to read the file you posted earlier. I only have Desktop 10.5 and it won't open Bouquet BS Box.crv. ??
Thanks

I have upgraded to Desktop V11 and now can see a very small series of pictures that give me an idea of what is going on.
Thanks again
Don W
PS I still need a bigger capacity machine and can't find one within my budget.

Amana has some .125 shank and .125D tools that would cut deep enough for you. I have used them You just have to keep the depth of cut and feed real conservative to prevent deflection but they get the job done. Just a thought......
