Easy Box Creator Number of Fingers

Post by Kenmachdata »

This is a great tool. I would like ask some information on the number of fingers setting. The default is 9 but I don't see 9 fingers. Just trying to figure out what this number actually does. I know with larger numbers you get more fingers. That's all I can figure out. Thanks!

If you are using the Easy Box Maker Version 3.3 from jimandigagdets.com then ---

A Box Side (7.5" High) = 4 fingers mated at Box End (7.5" High) = 5 fingers combined has a total of Nine(9) Fingers which is the Default Settings.

This above is what I am seeing when using the Gadget with its Default Settings. The more the fingers the smaller they are. I believe the amount of fingers determines not only their number count but their actual size for the joints required.

Maybe Jim of JimAndi Gadgets might chime in here as to how the fingers correlate to the construction a box.

Yes, You are correct. 5 on one part and 4 on the other makes 9 fingers.
Thanks,
Jim

Been fiddling with the Easy Box Maker Gadget namely the Finger Number/Count and this is what I have found ----

The finger number/count does represent the number of fingers on each mating side but it also determines the finger size based on the overall Box Height Dimension. So the Number of Fingers and the Box Height seems to work hand in hand to determine the outcome of the finger size and their final count for each mating side.
