Dovetail Gadget Dovetails on all sides

I have used this gadget many times in the past, and now it is creating dovetails on all four sides. Why is this happening?

My first thought was: were all sides selected?

Top: only the ends selected ; Bottom: all sides selected. Perhaps you did the same?
