Over the Christmas break I thought I would experiment with Aspire (v10.512) and the Dove tail maker gadget. Once I figured out that everything is going to be created on the left of the start point I found it super easy to use and find the joints great. The project I am making is a Handheld Mortiser and rather then using glue and screws I am using dovetails. To create the front support for the router I decided to take two pieces of wood (19mm and 12mm (together they measured 30.5mm) that are stacked together and will slide into the base which is 12.2mm). Thus in the Dove tail toolpath creator I entered a cut depth of 12.2 and a thickness of dove tail to 30.5mm. I then saved and ran the file...hindsight...should have double checked the tool path. The gadget defaulted to a cut depth of 30.5mm...it should be 12.2mm.
Please know this is not a criticism...in fact I am very grateful for the gadgets. I just thought I would pass on what I think might be a bug. Screen shots are attached.

Re: Dove tail - Depth of cut Error
As a follow-up to my above post, you can still have your CNC make the joint. All you have to do is set the machines Z to the depth specified in the depth of cut in the tool path. Normally I set the Z to the top of the material to be cut (in this instance it is 12mm from bed/spoil board) however in this case it needed to be set at 30.5mm.
