I'm using my turning center and I created a rounding toolpath to turn my 5-5/8" square block into a 5" diameter round blank. I first wanted to do an optimized raster path to cut it down to 5-1/16" with 1/2" stepover and 1/8" pass depth. Then I wanted to create another rounding toolpath that uses that 5-1/16" round and raster it down another 1/16" of an inch with a 1/16" pass depth and a 1/8" step over. This way I can minimize the cut time and still have a nice smooth finished round when I'm done.
I'm confused because, on my job summary, the max cut depth is highlighted in red. I didn't receive any error codes so I don't know what that means. I also originally had my diameter cut down to 4" instead of 5". When I was cutting to a 4" diameter, my max cut depth was highlighted red on my job sheet and said 2.063" for the first cut. Now I'm cutting to a 5" diameter it's highlighted red on my job sheet and says the max cut depth is 2.563". Why would my cut depth be deeper if I'm not cutting as much? And why is it highlighted red?

Can you post a copy of the G-Code file?Bemallie99 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 10, 2024 6:30 pmI'm using my turning center and I created a rounding toolpath to turn my 5-5/8" square block into a 5" diameter round blank.
