I played with miter folds a few years ago.
It is a neat technique. However, everything has to be just right. On an industrial level, using industrial equipment with consistent material, it works. On a small shop or hobby level? Not so much, real easy to waste material real quick. Another one of those "Oh yea! This will solve all my miter joint problems!" and then come to find out it introduces a whole new set of issues. . . .

The onefinity sample project is leaving 0.015" un-cut on the mitres for folding.
Here is a forum post from 2016 by Steve Godding showing a "industrial-sized" version of mitre-fold "boxes".
Martin Brewer (a.k.a. BritBoxmaker) does some pretty impressive small boxes using a tablesaw and/or a router table. (See here)
