Well got all those coding issues solved on the Game Board Maker Gadget. Beta Testing out the Gadget to make sure those changes haven't affected anything. I will post the gadget again when finished testing it.

Hello All,

Thank You BobTail Farm for the reminder post!

Here is another update of the Game Board Maker. This Gadget creates Game Board Vector Layouts. Each Game Board Layout comes with Vectors laid out on Several Layers for ease of creating Toolpaths. There are Twenty-One(21) Game Board Layouts to choose from. It now can be used in the Metric Units too (The Gadget User No Longer Has to Scale Vectors to the Correct Size!)

Item Changed/Added:
1.) Fixed Errors in the Coding. Thank You for pointing those out Adze_CNC!
2.) Beta Tested Gadget.

Game Board Maker_Ver_1.7.zip
Rename to Game Board Maker_Ver_1.7.vgadget

Current Version: 1.7
Supports: 12.0 versions of V-Carve Pro, and Aspire -- Not sure about any of the other previous Vectric Versions for it has been created in Version 12.009

Installation Instructions:

1. Download the gadget Game Board Maker_Ver_1.7.zip that is attached to this post.
2. Rename it from Game Board Maker_Ver_1.7.zip to Game Board Maker_Ver_1.7.vgadget
3. In Vectric Pro or Aspire click on Gadgets -> Install New Gadget and navigate to where you downloaded the file to, select it and click Ok.
4.) Be Sure to Close Down Program (V-Carve or Aspire) for Install to fully take. Then Restart V-Carve or Aspire and select gadget to use/run.

It should give you a pop up saying the gadget was installed and you should see Game Board Maker Ver1.7 in the Gadgets Menu. After Installing Close Program then Restart Program for using Gadget.

Next up ---
Continue Monitoring Gadget Activity via this forum. Also if there are any other recommended Game Board Layouts you would like to see added to the Gadget bring them up I will see what can be done to add them.

If you find an issue with the gadget, please let me know. I will do what I can to fix it within hours not days and/or weeks.

Sorry for the Delay other gadgets and a 91 year old Mom has been keeping me busy!!!

Cheers,
Sharkcutup

Sorry Shark, not loading for me. I followed your instructions, both by simply renaming .zip to .vgadget and unzipping and renaming the resulting file folder with the .vgadget file type. In both instances when I click on the file it opens up two folders, game boards and images, and that is where it ends. So, I am obviously doing something wrong. LMK what you believe I am missing.
Thanks, Ed

Do you wish to add something on whether this is actually a ZIP file that needs to be UNZIPPPED or not? Sometimes this gets lost because of this forum's inadequacies and the things folks have to use to get around them.

The zip is renamed not extracted as it says. A vgadget file is just a zip file with a different name. If the forum allowed vgadget files to be attached it would save a lot of confusion.

Thank you Adrian!

Nope it is all in the previous instructions. You install gadgets as with a .vgadget extension. As Adrian has said if the forum would allow this extension it would eliminate that confusion.

I finally got it installed. After renaming it, still didn't work, I right clicked and the opened up "properties" and changed "opens with Microsoft" to opens with VCarve Pro. Apparently Windows sees it as a .zip that should open up in WinZip by default. It is interesting that the full name of the file in the properties window was Game Board Maker_Ver_1.7.vgadget.zip. In other words, renaming it did not change the file's original file extension, it simply inserted .vgadget in between. Now that I did that with one of the downloads, the other two downloads followed suit and in the property window open with VCarve Pro.

I believe that it is time I create a short video on my youtube channel showing how to do the Install of gadgets. Maybe that will help.

Wouldn't it be so much easier if one of the big shots running this Vectric forum would just allow the proper extension for a Vectric product?

That is related to Window’s absurd default behaviour to hide known extensions.

See the “Note” at the end of this post to fix that.
