Sheet printing

Post by andrewprather74 »

Hello,
I am looking for a way to print all the sheets in a nests of cabinet parts, and yes I know a job set up sheets. I am a cabinet maker and many of our projects have 30-40 sheets in a nest. I like to print out a visual representation of each sheet for the operator to label parts and for secondary processing. Really all I am looking for is to create a gadget that can print our nest sheet fully justified portrait orientation on letter paper with the file name on top. Right now I am individually screen shotting each sheet and pasting into Word and then printing out with takes a few minutes and many mouse clicks. Looking for a way to automate this process. Help! Thank you in advance!

Hi andrewprather74,

Until a built in function is provides you can try this macro tool, it allows you to record all of those mouse moves, mouse clicks and most any other function then play them when you need them. You could add a parameter for the number of sheets so you could use it for any job. It can open word, copy/paste, then get the next sheet, screen print, and repeat for the number of sheets.

Just a thought to help you along. It can be found at the link below. PS, I have nothing to do with the tool just I have used it professionally before with great results.

Also you might want to look at exporting the sheets as PDF's (File menu, Export) as that will scale them to the printed sheet size automatically and might be easier than cutting/pasting.

Thanks Adrian!

I was able to export PDF and then just add a header in acrobat with the file name and page number. This will save me a lot of time and agony!
