Vic's Top Tip

You can "add side" to the toolpath name when saving out toolpaths in a two sided job.
This option automatically adds the side name to the toolpath name as it's saved...
Helping you keep your toolpaths organized!

V12 Project - Fun with Flutes

When you think of flutes you most likely will think of architectural pillars or columns. In the past we have shown you how to use flutes on a rotary project, to add decorative details to toys and even how to make a stool seat. In this free project Todd will take it even further and make a fun marble run game!

To start off Todd will review all the options available in the Fluting Toolpath. Then using a gadget available for Cut2D Pro, VCarve Pro and Aspire he will create a basic spiral. Using that spiral in VCarve Desktop he will show you how to make a four part marble run game. The final project only contains flutes, pockets and profiles and cuts in no time so you can get right to playing with family or friends.

Maker Spotlight - Compass Breakfast Table By H Kellins

“I just completed this 45-inch diameter breakfast table featuring a detailed compass design crafted from maple and walnut, framed by rich mahogany, with a striking wenge border around the edge. The piece is finished with Rubio Monocoat and topped with a Nano3 protective coat for enhanced durability and luster."

“This project has been the most complex and challenging work, requiring two months of dedicated effort. The production involved a blend of techniques: about half was completed with CNC for the more complex curves in the wenge border, while the rest relied on traditional table saw work and extensive hand sanding.”

There are plenty of files available above. Which one in particular is THE one?

Both of these files (downloaded 2024-11-25) load fine with Aspire Trial v12.011:

It's a V3M file which is just a 3D model. Once you've imported it you need to create a 3D roughing and finishing toolpath as you would normally with a 3D model.
