A young Beki once asked, “How does Santa deliver our presents if we don’t have a chimney?” Her mom replied, “With a Magic Key, of course!” Inspired by this charming tradition, Beki has created a project that brings this magical story to life.
In this project, Beki explores two of her favorite functionalities in Aspire: 3D modeling and two-sided machining. She guides you step-by-step on how to create a full 3D model of a skeleton key. Beki demonstrates the use of two modeling tools— the turn and spin tool, and the powerful interactive create shape tools—to model the key quickly and seamlessly. She also shares a fail-safe method for flipping your material to ensure perfect X and Y alignment when machining both the top and bottom sides.
This project is available for both Aspire and VCarve users, where Aspire users can explore the building blocks that Beki created to build the finished model. For VCarve users we have included the Key V3M file that you can import and create your own file too!

Thank you. I opened that and thought it was blank. Found the key on the bottom left. Going to watch the video to see how to turn V3M into the crv.

It's a 3D model. Import it or load it as you would with any other 3D model then create the 3D roughing and finishing toolpaths.BraceyMike wrote: ↑Wed Dec 11, 2024 7:08 pmThank you. One sided 3D model. Good info in the comments on the YouTube video.

Hello and thanks for the question. If you have VCarve you will need to use the V3M Beki provided... set up a double sided job at the size she did, import in the Key model, Copy it to the other side, and then follow her video from the time she is done modeling the key. That should be about it... you will need to recreate the "tag"... but other then that... you will be OK.
