New FREE Project - Making Farmhouse Candle Holders Using Rotary CNC

Post by Olly »

New to rotary, or just interested in how it works? This project just might be what you are looking for. Todd will take you through the very basics, nothing to heavy here, so this is good place to start! We will have a look at CNC with a rotary attachment and chat about how it works, then jump into Vcarve Desktop to create a few test toolpaths to insure things happen as we expect.

We always like to use our CNC to make a tool to help us in our CNC journey. Todd will need a way to find the center of his material, before he can start the test cuts. A center finder is the perfect tool for this and you can make one on your CNC with his file that is included with this project.

After we insure the test cuts work, then we can dive into a proper project. The moulding toolpath is perfect for creating complex profiles on a rotary project, and makes for a super easy way to create an impressive candle holder. To finish it off he will use that toolpath strategy to create a top and base to make and impressive set to display on your side or dinner table.

This is a free trial project that includes four files: center finder, rotary tests, candle sticks, and the matching base and top file. If you are interested in the Trial version of Vcarve Desktop, Pro or Aspire they can be downloaded from this link https://www.vectric.com/free-trial/

Have fun making, and make fun stuff!

Working fine for me as well. Do you have CRV files associated with Aspire V12 if you're trying to open the files by double clicking?

Must have been a glitch in my computer or Windows. Everything seems to be opening okay this morning. Maybe just needed a restart.
