I have edited my post processer and created a new one which is a txt file and saved it to the following directory but I can not choose it from Vcarve Pro 10.0
C:\ProgramData\Vectric\VCarve Pro\V10.0\My_PostP
I thought I should be able to choose between multiple custom post processers when ever I choose.
What am I doing wrong. Is there some kind of special txt file for post processors? I thought I could just copy the file into the above directory as a simple txt file and be good to go.
What am I missing here?

Re: Why can't I read my post processor
All of my post processor files end with the extension .pp not .txt
My cnc (g code) files end with .txt
I am thinking you just need to change that extension if you want to see the post processor.

Yep, post processor files are text files but they are not .txt files. They must have the suffix of .pp
Depending on the settings you have in Windows you may not see the file extension. Look in the Type column of the file window and make sure the type is PP File. You'll have to rename it if not.

Re: Why can't I read my post processor
There are 2 folders where you can place a PP. "MyPostP" and "PostP". If there is anything in the "MyPostP" folder then they(it) will be the only thing shown in the program.

Re: Why can't I read my post processor (Please Help)
Thank you to all of you who responded extension of .pp works great. But it still does not let me read it as I am getting a error message now.
This is what I did:
I modified my main everyday post processor to turn off the spindle (I thought simple fix)
I commented out the following line:
What it was:
"[N]M03[S]"
What I did:
+"[N]M03[S]"
Saved the new post with the .pp extension (Thank you all) and saved it to the directory of Mypost. So now I have two post in this directory because I thought when I use the diamond drag bit I could select it post while using it. But I get an error message when I start my Vectric software. which is in a section of the file that always worked before from the CNC machine manufacturer (Laguna)
Can I NOT have multiple post in the my post directory to choose between?
I have attached my normal everyday post for you to look at and hopefully set me straight as to how to modify it for Diamond Drag Bit use.
Also attached my modified Diamond Drag file as well and the error message file.
It looks fine to me so I am stumped.

Re: Why can't I read my post processor
Looks like you created the new file on a Mac. The clue is the way the error is displayed, what it's calling line 2 is really about 135.
A lot of Mac text editors only put CR on the end of a line rather than CR LF.
To verify that is the problem I cut and pasted the text into the editing program I use and it works fine. I've attached that file.

It works, thank you so much! You are a life saver!
I have another question:
Once I select the Diamond Drag post processor while using the engraving tool path will it automatically revert back to the normal wood cutting tool path.
I.E: Engraving on image on a piece of Acrylic and want to use a upcut flute bit to cut the image out of the Acrylic will the cutting tool path automatically revert back to my normal post process if both of these are in the mypost directory?

Re: Why can't I read my post processor
No, you always have to select the post processor you want to use to create the cutting file. The program will just default to the last one used, there's no connection to the type of toolpath.

Re: Why can't I read my post processor
Thank you so much again for responding. I did however realize that this was the case when I went to save another job out and noticed clear as day the area to select the post processor.
But I certainly do appreciate you monitoring this forum and helping all of us out. Especially, when we have what appears to be a dumb question.
Thanks again, you are appreciated for sure!
