Hello Harold,

I might well take you up on your offer of testing, if that is O.K.

Cheers,

Mark.

Just downloaded the Aspire trial version, watched some of the instruction videos and started playing around with the software for a bit.
Been looking for info on actually cutting on the CNC with the trial version, can't locate the information though.
I have a Weeke at hand were I could run some sample pieces on, can I do this with the trial version?

Thank you for your help!

Hello tnkngn,

You can find the current procedure for producing files for the Homag / Weeke machines
in a PDF file located in the PostP\03-Homag-Weeke sub folder of the Application Data Folder
(This is accessible from "File" on the main menu of the program).
This procedure may change when a new post processor is released.

I would recommend that you machine at least two of the "Evaluation files to machine" that
are included with the trial edition (The Bulls Head Sign and the Open sign should be a good test
of your machine with the software).

I hope that this helps,

Cheers,

Mark.

Thank you for your answer Mark!

I found the procedure for the Weeke CNC, however, I can't locate the "Evaluation files to machine"
Where can I find those?

Just to make sure I understand this correctly, with the trial version I can only output the files to mpr supplied by you, right?

Hello tnkngn,

With the trial edition of the software open one of the "Evaluation files to machine" from the links in the bottom left.

Once the file has opened you will see that there are one or more pre-calculated toolpaths to machine the job.

You can use these toolpaths as they are if you have the tools used, but you should check the speeds and feeds to make sure that they are appropriate for your machine tool, the material that you are cutting (If you are not making an air-cut) and the tooling that you are using.
Or you can choose to alter the feed rates and spindle speeds and re-calculate the toolpaths.

You can also change the toolpaths to use the tooling that you have, if you do not have tools that match the exact ones that we have used in the examples.

Or you can delete the pre-existing toolpaths and create your own toolpaths for the evaluation files.

When you save the toolpaths, follow the procedure in the document that I mentioned in my earlier reply.

If you require any further help, please feel free to drop us an email to support.

I hope that this helps,

Cheers,

Mark.

Hey tnkngn,
You will need to save a .ply and .mpr file. The .ply file must be in the ml4 folder on your computer and open the .mpr file in woodWop to enter the tool number and feed rate. Good luck. Its pretty cool!
