I recently installed a Centroid Acorn board on my 48x96" router. Previously I had controlled it with Mach3 and enjoyed the "Output direct to machine" feature that saved toolpath g-code AND loaded the toolpath into Mach3 at the same time.
Selecting a Centroid Post Processor greys out the option to check the box for "Output direct to machine". Can that automatic loading of the tool path g-code work from Aspire to Centroid CNC12 like it does from Aspire to Mach3? I hope there is a way. It's a handy feature that saves a few steps and ensures loading the most recent g-code.
I'm running Aspire and Centroid CNC12 on the same PC.
Thanks in advance,
Michael
Can Vectric's "Output direct to machine" work with Centroid?

Hi Michael.
No, when the option is greyed out you cannot select it.
There is no way to Direct output from Aspire to the Centroid controller.

I have the Centroid Acorn controller also...In Vectric, save your toolpath to the desktop, open Centroid, home the machine and touch off your part if you haven't already, click load, select your file...should be ready to run.
After that, the file will be in Centroid's program data base according to date saved...just click load, click on the file and run as usual.

Thanks for answers. Simon Oakley from Vectric confirmed:
Vectric's "Output direct to machine" only works with a very limited number of controller types Mach3 and GRBL controllers are the most frequently used . The centroid machine is not supported for this functionality.
