My Rotary Axis & Stuff

Post by olf20 »

I finally got a chance to get started on a project for my grandson. I'm building him a grain auger for his farm set. I turned the twist with the 4th axis. The twist / auger is about 18" long. I plan to put this in a long piece of clear plastic tubing and make a wire under frame with some wheels. It will of course it will auger soybeans or pea's.

Just finding the time to do the fun stuff is hard.

Also attached is a sign we done for one of our local dentists.

Hello Bob,
The auger and sign look great! Did you do the mill conversion yourself? Thanks for posting the pictures and information.
Best regards,

Yep, done / doing the conversion ourselves. Still work in progress.
I would like to get the ball screw on the Z at some point. Just seems like that
getting the time to do fun stuff is rare.
Then comes this 4th axis stuff. Had the stuff laying around so I had to get that
going. Sure keep the ole brain thinking, but lots of fun.
