Hi
Is it possible with Vcarve Pro 10 with a 4th axis to make a cone?
I would like to make a cone so that I could make some Christmas tree type ornaments.
I saw an example in Aspire, but can it be done in Vcarve Pro?
Thank you.
Harvey

Hello Harvey,
Yes, you would be able to produce a whole range of conical shapes by producing a Moulding Toolpath
and outputting this on your rotary axis.
Cheers,
Mark.

Thank you for the quick reply. My 4th axis will be here next week and I was hoping to get some projects planed so
that when it come in I can test it. It will also make some nice gifts for my kids when they come over for Christmas.

Hi Mark
I have been playing with the information that you gave me. Just some information for members that are not that good with the molding toolpath and 4th axis (like me).
The example that Mark gave was for wrapping aound the y axis. When I did your example I did not get what I was expecting. I rotated the pieces and it worked.
Also, you may have to reverse the starting point. Hopefully, these tips will help some people working on this type of problem.
Thanks again.
