Importing Own 3D Model

Post by mzongkers »

I am making religious carvings that are about the size of a piece of paper. The model itself needs to be 3/4 inch thick and will be pocketed around it. I have tried building components (arms, legs, etc.) from a picture I imported but have not been able to get the detail and quality needed. I have also created my own 3d model of Jesus out of a action figure and I did that through other software. I am able to get a good amount of detail in my 3d model I created but when I transfer it into Aspire I am losing a lot of the finer details I need. I have been saving it as a OBJ or STL file. I was wondering if anyone has used an external 3d modeling software and transfer it into Aspire? Any suggestions on how not to lose the detail?

What modeling resolution do you have your job set to.
Standard is fair but you may need to go to maximum to get the results you want.
Take a look at page 6 of the Aspire Manual..
