Need to Hire Vcarve Designer

Post by sayitfast »

We are a woodworking shop and need help creating a carving in vcarve pro with toolpaths etc.

Cabinet front that needs a Petroglyph carving on it. The Cabinet design is done in some cabinet making software. The front door we were going to do in vCarve Pro. We need help putting the carving on the door. Toolpathing and full vCarve project file.

We will cut it on our 5x10 CNC. We have architectural drawings and the petroglyphs. They consist of some Quail and a spiral. We have done this in the past but by hand. Is this something you can help us with? This is not an intricate design but due to time limits and our in house person is not available right now, so, we need help.

Basically we do the door as one solid peace do the carving then split the door on the table saw.

We have arthecechual drawing and examples we can share.

Please message me if interested.

Are the petroglyphs already drawn on the architectural drawings? Or does the person who does this need to add them in. You are not very clear about what stage this is all in.

I am not interested, just trying to help you get some help. A lot of folks are VERY hesitant about programming someone else's machine. I am one of those. All it takes is one crash, an angry owner, an attorney and YIKES!!!!

OK, I see where you say you need someone to put the carving on the front door. That helps. How about someone does that for you and then YOU do the programming of the machine?

BTW, putting that carving on the door is trivial. Get a decent drawing of it head on. Take picture, load into VCarve, trace, maybe a little cleanup and you will be good to go.

I would think you need to allow for the width of the saw blade as well.

We were able to do it... I'm fairly good at cabinet making software but don't use Vcarve thought it would be more difficult.

Thanks for the info!

As you perhaps found out: if you can start with a good quality bitmap image you can realize a design quite quickly using "Trace Bitmap" without much editing of vectors:
