Unfortunately Adrian, shipping has sky rocketed since you bought your machine.
To the OP:
I see they are using the Kress router FME 800.
Be aware that although it will do up to 29.000 rpm, it is only 800 watt.
I have the 1250 and although it is slightly slower at 25.000 rpm it is 1250 watt.
Something else is, that because the Kress use precision collets, that will be an extra expense and the maximum collet is 10 mm.
Because of the bearings in the router, it is almost indestructable though. Ask me how I know

Really? I buy goods from all over the World for my businesses and there has been a general rise over the years but I wouldn't say it's skyrocketed. Perhaps the situation is different to Australia.

Sorry I haven't seen this post before Adrian.
I do not know much about large shipments but I know that where USPS used to have fixed priced bags and boxes where you could ship as much as you could manage into them for the same cost, that is no longer in existence.

In my book this is very expensive. We can generaly work on the cost or more in shipping alone.

Perhaps you get a concession for being in business but definitely not as a general buyer.
