We replaced the spoilboard on our table (MDF) and in the process of planeing the table it would seem as if our router is no longer square to the table. It would look as if its less than a thousands of an inch on Y+ / Y- but more noticable on X+ / X-. Its leaving a 'staircase' look in the spoilboard.
Our question is...
1. How do others measure the router 'deflection' or out of square?
2. How do others correct this?
3. Our Z (or mounting system for the router) has no adjustments, we are thinking of using feeler guages as 'shim stock' could this work?
Our biggest issue is sorting out how we check how bad we are out without dozens of trial and error with the shims we install.
Our router uses a 'standard' 3.25 PorterCable in a 2" block of aluminum with 2 compression mounting bolts.
Thanks,
