Motor control design

Post by jsheley »

Motor control design:

I request marketing information from any/all Vectric’s users. If you have experience with marketing and sales of 3-axis mills, gantry designs, or 3-d printers I am especially interested in your opinion.
A colleague and I are designing hardware for the precision motor control market. The servo motor control market we seek includes 3-axis mills, 5-axis mills, additive addition machines, industrial controls. What I would like to know is what type of motor we should use as our first pass model;

The choices are:
1) Mechanical interface (Nema 23 or Nema 34)
2) Torque options (39 oz-in to 479 oz-in)
3) Brushed motors
4) Stepper motors
5) Brushless motors
Initial sales are what makes/breaks a new product launch. I would like to know what options are most likely to generate sales.
See attached data sheets;
Also, would you, please, suggest a forum where I can find electrical engineers skilled in the art of “H”-bridge design as relates to motor control?
