Bearing on a router bit
Bearing on a router bit
I have an Amana 45992 bowl and tray router bit that has an upper bearing. Would it be safe to uses on a CNC if I remove the bearing?

Re: Bearing on a router bit
I would not. It is better to get a bit designed for CNC use.
Still, it is your safety and your choice.

Re: Bearing on a router bit
Without the bearing does this look like a bowl bit that is sold not equipped with a bearing?

Re: Bearing on a router bit
I've used bits like that without any trouble even if the bearing is left in place. Just don't cut deeper than the blade depth of the bit. Even if you do the bearing may spin but it is designed to run at router speeds.
