Spoilboard, PVC Perf or MDF

Post by Robroy »

Good day forum, I was wondering if anyone has tried using a perforated pvc spoilboard opposed to using an MDF sacrficial board? Costs aside, will the pvc show considerably more suction due to eliminating vacuum loss out the sides? I don't see how it would be significantly better since you can seal the edges of the MDF unless it is simply because you're not having to go through the material on the MDF since you will have holes everywhere for the PVC.

Thanks!

I'm not going into the explanation here, but no the "pegboard" type vacuum bleeder boards do not provide better hold down. Most that test them against proper (read as porous) liteweight MDF (read as not big box store MDF) find that the MDF provides much better holding force. I say this in spite of what the internet's DIY experts proclaim.
