Looking for a spindle to add to my Axiom Basic. I just ordered the 80mm bracket. I would prefer air cooled and need 110v 80mm ER20. Any recommendations on specific products?
Thanks

Re: Spindle recommendations 110v 80mm
I'd recommend getting a 240V outlet installed. A 110V spindle at 5 amps is a lot closer to a 500w spindle than a 2.2Kw spindle, which would normally be 10 amps at 220V.

You definitely don't want a cheap VFD. I run a Hitachi that I like quite a bit.I have no VFD yet either.

Any thoughts on this kit.
Also I run a Bosch 2 1/4 router now. Will a 110v Spindle perform better than the Bosch Router or is it not worth the upgrade?

I changed from a Freud 2 1/4 hp router to a 2.2 kw 220 volt air cooled spindle and VFD over a year ago...If I had guessed that the spindle would be so much better, I wouldn't have waited so long to make the switch...a lot less noise, better power, better speed control, and more stable...no regrets.bbowers12 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 06, 2020 11:39 pmhttps://www.amazon.com/dp/B06ZZSPT5R/?c ... _lig_dp_it

Can I ask what 220v Air Cooled you purchased. I have decided to do 220v.
I am looking at Automation Technology Inc.

Re: Spindle recommendations 110v 80mm
I ordered mine from an e-bay seller (Rattmotor)...it came with the spindle, VFD, and an aluminum clamp mount...it didn't come with any cables, but a connector for the motor was included...I had to find a source for the cable then solder the connector, but that didn't make it a deal breaker for me, because I had already built the whole machine and that was just one more step to me.bbowers12 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 09, 2020 1:01 amCan I ask what 220v Air Cooled you purchased.
