Dead Router

Post by Ross »

Hi, I have run into a bit of a problem and was hoping someone in the Auckland - Kumeu area could help.
Our grandson will be 21 on Friday 27th September and our daughter has asked me to engrave a 21st key for him. That would have been okay but when I started the router and tried to Home it the Y axis runs away and the big Red button is the only way to stop it.
I need someone local to cut the job for me.
I have the code, designed in Aspire 8.5, already on a flashdrive.
Any, helpful, suggestions would be much appreciated. Ross

I think it's a bit more complex than that as it travels in short hops at full speed and when I attempt to Home it again it will just run away and, on one occasion got to the end of it's travel just as I hit the red button.
The machine is a Phoenix GS48 XHD and is has an 8' x 4' bed.
I can't find the limit switches but I do know that it shouldn't be using Rapids to locate the limits.
