level, but not?

Post by sturgeon067 »

any ideas on how to fix this? my board is 100% level on the base of the machine ---really. I am cutting a 10 inch circle. the left side of the circle is .05in deep on first pass... the right side is barely touching the surface. the table is also level and i plained the board down to .75 inches from a 1in board, so it should be consistent. this happens routinely between the left and right of my machine. i am using a cnc shark.

any ideas i can try are most appreciated!

Sounds like you need to surface your top with the router.

I would venture to bet that the axis motion is NOT parallel to the machine bed.

You can try to adjust it or you can resurface the machine bed with your router.

No matter - you want to get your machine bed and axis motions to be parallel.

The forum that can help you a great deal more is http://www.cncsharktalk.com/

They mainly deal with software questions here as where your shark machine is talked about on CNC Shark Talk
. . .there are numerous answers for uneven tops and aligning. . .
