Keyboard Shortcuts and Icons

Been working on a cheat sheet that has all the keyboard shortcuts and program icons. Here's what I have so far, take a look and let me know if I missed any shortcuts. Or if there's some other useful information I should put on it.

Good work Jay!

Don't forget:

Node edit mode:

-D (pointing a span) = delete span... while D (pointing at a node) = delete that node.

-P (pointing a node) = make that node the start point... as long as it is one end of a open vector or a node of a closed vector.

Hi Jay,

Just noticed a couple of mods you need to make on your "Cheat Sheet" and "How to's"

Shortcuts in Drawing Mode.

"S" key does not scale now. "S" is only smooth/unsmooth point.

"P" key does not pan.
I tried to investigate to see if Brian had changed this to another key function, so I first tried Ctrl-P. That didn't work so tried Alt-P and the pan icon appeared.
I thought that was it so I de-selected and tried again.
If you just select Alt-P it doesn't work. You have to do Ctrl-P, then Alt-P. !!

Pressing the "R" key does rotate. But if you are in node edit, placing the pointer over a vector and pressing "R" does not remove that vector. (Mentioned in Custom Form Tools, Step 6.) Now "D" to delete only.

You havn't been finishing off all your Sam Adams and Homebrew Stout while you were compiling these have you? (hehe)

That's all for now, but I must say, you have performed an excellent task.

Cheers,
Warren.

Ok Warren made the changes to the cheat sheet and I'll update the how-to and faq stuff too.

Thanks for reviewing this stuff. You start to go cross-eyed trying to find all the combinations of keys in different modes. Maybe I should be drinking while I'm writing these..

Excellent job Jay.

My only comment would be that for those of us that are slightly more "mature" than others.... (I will never admit to getting older) the font on the Shortcut page is a might small.

I printed it off onto a piece of card stock and it makes it pretty handy.

Thanks again,

Les

That's funny you say that Les. I made a version for me with the first page landscaped so it's a lot bigger.

Sorry Jay,

I said,

"P" key does not pan.
I tried to investigate to see if Brian had changed this to another key function, so I first tried Ctrl-P. That didn't work so tried Alt-P and the pan icon appeared.
I thought that was it so I de-selected and tried again.
If you just select Alt-P it doesn't work. You have to do Ctrl-P, then Alt-P. !!

I am afraid I got this wrong.

If you press Ctrl-P it does switch you into pan mode. But the pan icon did not appear until I moved the mouse.

Maybe I too should be drinking while I'm writing mine. :)

Hi Jay
I can’t seem to download the chart, all I get is a small square in the upper left hand corner.

Not a problem Warren, I've updated both files.

Dan, Tony was having problems too. Is anyone else having troubles downloading the files? I'll attach a zip file that contains both cheat sheets. Let me know if you can or can't get this.
