2.5 carving / detail

Post by dawright »

Recently purchased a file to make for wife. All good in mdf test except the smallest letters get carved out by 1/16 ballnose bit. What is best method to work around this, seems something in model pane and depth would do it but have adjusted up and down and no difference. Do 3d rough with .25 ballnose then finish with 1/16. Can see letters just no depth? if that makes sense
Any input?

How does it look in the preview? Have you adjusted model Height ?

Did you solve this problem? Not sure if you can post the file as it contains a purchased model. If you need more help, could you post a screen shot of the simulation and a top and side view of the toolpaths in the 3D view?

I believe I just made the model height less. Shows total height as .48 instead of .67 originally. It looks as though there will be more depth to the small lettering in preview. Have a few things to run first but will update
