Hi everyone
I have Vcarve Pro V.10.515 and want to engrave a prototype on brass, we use prototypes in casting in our foundry.
In metals you cannot go down that is, the ae to be too high and in the finish process the tool goes down all the way down which may cause the finishing tool to break.
Is there way that we can do the final finish on more than one stage and go down the axial depth slowly?
Thanks in advance

Re: Pass depth issue on brass engraving
Not really sure what you are asking.
What size
How deep
What is the shape
What cutters
Brass can be cut on a CNC router, as long as it is robust enough.
Pass depth is controlled in the tool dialog box -- Pass Depth

Re: Pass depth issue on brass engraving
You might want to use a roughing toolpath first. Roughing toolpaths are designed for removing most of the material and can be in multiple passes. The depth is controlled by the pass depth. A finishing toolpath depth cannot be controlled but after the roughing toolpath there is only a small amount of material left to cut away.
