text on a curve feature not available. I've selected my text and my curve click on the icon for text on a curve it opens BUT every option is grayed out. It's telling me to select the text and the curve. So it doesn't recognize the selected items. Totally puzzled ......

Possibilities:
You selected grouped items.
Text had been converted to curves in a previous operation.

Just to add to whats been said, if you have more than one line of text that needs to be curved as one block of text then the distort selected objects tool might do what you want

Thanks for the responses. I was playing around with the grouping/un-grouping options and got things messed up.
Cleared and re-entered the text and it worked.
