I don't know if anyone here has ever done curved surface inlays, but I searched here and on YouTube and I couldn't find it.
So I looked for a way to do this and put my first experience here to share and make it more elaborate with the participation of whoever is interested.
The test proved to be possible and can be done in different types of work.
My purpose with this is to be able to apply the inlay design before machining the fretboard radius.
This is usually done after machining and the cavity for the inlay is minimal. on the other hand, if we make a part and glue it to the flat surface, after machining, the figure distorts at the edges due to curvature.
Watching some videos of inlays with V-Bit, I thought about the possibility of applying the same technique under a fretboard.
So in this video I show my first experiment that was successful even though a piece of wood broke, the technique worked.
Now I'm going to apply this technique to my guitars.
I recorded in Portuguese, but there are subtitles in English, active it.

I shared the YouTube link on another guitar forum. It should be an interesting process of discovery.
