Bitmap to vector

Post by goodfoodcraig »

I want to convert a line drawing to vector. I made a drawing on paper with pencil then scanned as a bitmap. When converting in V Carve Desktop to vector the line was outlined mKING A CONTINOUS VECTOR AROUND THE LINE verses making a single vector ON TOP OF THE LINE. How do I make a line drawing into a vector?

The automatic tracing in VCarve creates vectors that are suitable for the v-carving toolpath with an inner and outer vector.

If you want what is a centre line trace you need to either:

1. manually trace using the drawing tools (I always do this anyway as it yields much cleaner vectors than trace programs)

2. edit the auto trace vectors to remove the bits you need

3. use a 3rd party program that does a centre line trace
