Ok. This was such a small piece though. I'm afraid when I need to do a much larger sign - say 4' x 8' I'm going to be in bad shape....

I now need to do a sandblast texture too but the Google drive file is gone. Could someone please upload it again or email it to me at ken.strauss@pebblebeach.ca ? Thanks in advance!

You're lucky I don't delete anything.
Here are the settings for the texture.

If you look at the Texture pattern I posted above, you don't need the stl....

There are quite a few textures that come with the program. Although it may not be exactly what you are looking for it can be close enough to work. I have Aspire but I just used one of the textures from the clipart to make this top for one of the Paradise boxes that I made recently.

Thanks Michael but, unless the clipart provided with the program is different with VCarve, I don't think you need Aspire to do the texture shown in the pic. The texture and the surrounding border was done with the clipart that came with the program

Thanks Steve. Yes Vcarve can do a lot- it's still above my abilities- so until I learn more about working with 3D shapes and all that goes along with that, I'm not ready for anything more advanced. It really just finding the time and then trying to remember how to do it when the need comes about. So thankful for this helpful group!!!!

When you start fiddling with 3D models be sure to look in to Level Clipping, it's one of the new v10 powerful tools in VCP and Aspire that will allow you to do a lot of 3D stuff like the frame using standard clipart.
